Meet the inspiring team behind the NEST, the new obstetric command center at the University of Maryland Medical System (UMMS) and the first of its kind in the state.

Powered by PeriWatch Vigilance, the NEST gives experienced labor and delivery nurses the ability to remotely monitor fetal tracings across the health system, adding an extra layer of protection that helps bedside teams spot concerns sooner, respond faster, and strengthen safety for moms and babies.

“We have a cumulative 255 years of labor and delivery experience as part of our team of 17 nurses, and it enhances the care for every patient,” says Cristina Haas, Nurse Manager of the NEST. “We’re here to challenge the status quo, and I think our team is the face of change.”

We’re proud to celebrate this transformative step forward in maternal care. Watch the full video below!
