PeriGen Announces First Integration of its PeriCALM Perinatal Solution with
CPSI’s Enterprise-wide EHR at Taylor Regional Hospital
Interface helps 55-bed rural hospital in Georgia
further enhance quality and safety of care
PRINCETON, N.J. ─ August 5, 2013 ─ PeriGen, the global leader in applying real-time clinical decision support to perinatal systems, today announced the first integration of its PeriCALM® perinatal system with Taylor Regional Hospital’s enterprise-wide electronic health record (EHR) from Computer Programs and Systems, Inc. (NASDAQ: CPSI). The interface, which went live in June, allows clinicians at the Hawkinsville, Ga.-based 55-bed rural community hospital to access consolidated, up-to-date inpatient and perinatal data, improving quality, timeliness and safety of patient care across the facility.
“The seamless integration of labor and delivery perinatal documentation with the CPSI EHR provides clinicians with the critical information they need to make faster and more informed decisions for mothers and newborns no matter where they are in the hospital,” said Hollie Conner, R.N., nurse manager at Taylor Regional Hospital. “We were very impressed with the ease, speed and expertise PeriGen demonstrated in connecting the two disparate systems, which will dramatically improve workflow, clinician efficiency and patient care.”
The integration comes only months after Taylor Regional Hospital went live with PeriCALM in its labor and delivery unit. PeriGen’s PeriCALM suite includes PeriCALM® Tracings™, PeriCALM Patterns™ and PeriCALM Curve™. PeriCALM Patterns is the only fetal strip interpretation technology that is validated by the National Institutes of Health (NIH).
Together, these solutions support and empower OB/GYN clinicians in delivering optimal care of mothers and their babies at the bedside.
“We are pleased to help Taylor Regional Hospital achieve the IT integration it requires to meet challenging clinical and business needs,” said Matthew Sappern, PeriGen’s CEO. “As the health system undergoes structural reform and wrenching transformation, it will be imperative for facilities to achieve seamless connectivity between best-of-breed and enterprise wide clinical systems. That’s why PeriGen systems integrate with more enterprise and ancillary systems than any other perinatal company.”
