What true bi-directional interfacing really means

Many labor & delivery units are still saddled with either uni-directional or two uni-directional interfaces (one inbound, one outbound) between their fetal surveillance system and their EMR.  Although they’re still seeing shared data, these integration models have two main disadvantages:  Compromised, choppy workflow and the inability to see a centralized  data in real time.

PeriGen’s new system, PeriWatch offers true bi-directional integration.  This means that documentation workflow can be optimized to fit clinical preference for charting maternal-fetal data points in the EFM (including annotating on the strip) while feeding into the EMR in real-time so that data is available when most needed – during the episode of care.
