Advancing Perinatal ResearchPeriGen’s Research Agenda

Emily Hamilton, MD, PeriGen’s SVP of Research has contributed a prodigious amount of research to contemporary obstetrical practice.   Dr. Hamilton’s most recent study published in ACOG (online 6/4/12) found that overall shoulder dystocia rates fell by more than 50% with no increase in the primary cesarean rate in patients whose physicians used the PeriCALM® Shoulder Screen™ tool.   Dr. Hamilton and her research team are exploring several topics. These include uterine tachysystole and its association with perinatal outcome and the determinants of severe uterine hemorrhage.  With participants from several PeriGen client hospitals, these studies will help advance our mutual missions to improve obstetrical care with evidence-based methods.
