Advanced Perinatal Decision-Support

PeriGen’s patented decision-support software is a modular system that handles burdensome number-crunching, counting, and analysis so that clinicians have more time for what they do best — care for patients. This fetal monitoring technology alerts clinicians to potential problems, and provides the data needed for proactive care management of those problems, helping to make labor and delivery safer.

The following features help clinicians see critical trends and quantify information quickly and accurately:

  • The only real-time EFM pattern recognition technology validated by the NICHD
  • Point-and-click navigation to review lengthy tracings
  • Color-coded, long-term tracing displays highlighting worrisome FHR and contraction combinations
  • Personalized analysis that compares labor progress against population benchmarks

PeriGen offers four advanced fetal monitoring modules. They interlock to empower clinicians to use the advanced clinical analytic tool that’s right for their department to improve care, boost unit productivity, and facilitate team communications.

TracingsPeriCALM® Tracings™

The base PeriCALM module, Tracings, offers comprehensive viewing of the strip with:

  • Annotation on the strip (data that’s shared with your EHR, as well as all other PeriCALM modules)
  • Instant access to all data from the strip
  • A detail slider that allows you to view any area of the strip throughout the entire encounter of care quickly and easily

PeriCALM CheckList, a solution to the labor & delivery checklist challengePeriCALM® CheckList™

PeriGen solves the challenges of obstetric labor and delivery protocol checklists with PeriCALM CheckList.  This module, which adapts to your protocols and is able to co-exist with your current EFM system, allows your labor & delivery team to spend less time on calculations and paperwork and more time on what really counts — patient care.

  • CheckList gives your clinicians greater flexibility by providing longer viewing screens showing 30 minutes of tracings along with the last four hours of tracing accompanied by four hours of color-coded CheckList trends.
  • The module includes a convenient toolbar icon showing CheckList status quickly and easily at the bedside.
  • The icon pops up to show current measurements, a link to the entire tracing and access to the Central View of all patients.
  • The parameters that result in a positive CheckList status are easy to review since they’re shown in CAPS.

PatternsPeriCALM® Patterns™

Patterns, the second module of the PeriCALM solution, provides clinicians with the power of patented pattern recognition analysis based on NICHD guidelines.  The module enables a real-time view of important trends at-a-glance for faster, easier identification of potential issues.  The module provides:

  • A two-hour view for dynamic interpretation of key trends
  • Color-coded acceleration, deceleration, baseline, and variability indicators based on NICHD definitions
  • Easy-to-use detail slider allowing insights into any part of the strip
  • A Contractility Index that identifies uterine tachysystole or excessive contraction frequency
  • Automatic, continuous calculation of Montevideo units.

CurvePeriCALM® Curve™

The third module of the PeriCALM advanced fetal monitoring solution provides clinicians with a convenient and objective method of evaluating labor progress.  A graph of the mother’s dilation and station are automatically displayed with each pelvic exam.  The graph is accompanied by percentiles to provide  precise quantitative and personalized assessment of dilation.

Shoulder screenPeriCALM® Shoulder Screen™

Patented, web-based tool, developed as a result of PeriGen’s clinical research, helps clinicians identify women at increased risk for experiencing shoulder dystocia with brachial plexus injury. Used physician practices and hospital clinics.
